ELIGIBI LITY
1. There is no entry fee.
2. The contest is open to everyone everywhere except employees of Primedia’s Golden, Colorado, office and all contest sponsors.
3. At least 75% of the fabrics used in the quilt top must be from RJR collections, Paint Box Prints, or the Jinny Beyer Palette collections.
4. A Robison-Anton thread must be used in the quilt, either in piecing, quilting, embroidery, or embellishment.
5. HP Quilt Label Kit software must be used to create labels entered in competition for the Special HP Printed Label Prize.
6. Entries must be made specifically for this competition. Entries cannot have been exhibited previously or submitted for publication elsewhere.
7. Qualified entries must relate to a specific category and follow all requirements detailed in the category descriptions.
8. All photos or text printed on fabric and contained in the quilts must be generated by the entrant, copyright-free, or used with the permission of the copyright holder. Contest sponsors neither encourage nor assume responsibility for copyright infringement by any entrant.
9. Qualified entries must fit the following size limitations: Outside edges must measure no less than 200" and no more than a total of 480". The quilt could be as small as 50" square or a 40" x 60" rectangle. It could be as large as 120" square for a king-size bed. Any total edge measurement between 200" and 480" is acceptable.
10. A 4" double sleeve must be attached to the top of the back of the quilt with stitches on both its top and bottom edges so that a hanging rod may be slipped into this tube without touching the quilt. If the quilt was made by more than one person, all persons involved must be listed on the label. The name of the person who quilted the quilt must be listed on the label if other than the maker of the top. The information can be applied to the label by any permanent means.
11. The quilt must be constructed of fabric. It must consist of three layers and be quilted, either by hand or machine. Any technique or combination of techniques may be used to make the quilt. No fragile embellishments, rigid frames, or special
hanging apparatus will be allowed.
12. It must be possible to roll or fold the quilt to fit a container no larger than 36" for shipping. Care will be taken with each quilt, but special packing instructions cannot be accommodated.

HOW TO ENTER
1. Entry forms are available on the RJR website, or can be mailed to you from RJR (call 800-422-5426). Entry forms and contest rules will also be available at shops where the fabric lines are sold. Complete an entry form and send it with one set of original (not duplicate) 35 mm slides to A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll Quilt Challenge, 741 Corporate Circle, Suite A, Golden, CO 80401. No fax or electronic entries will be accepted. Do not send quilts with your entry.
2. The slides must show three views of a quilt entry: one overall shot of the entire quilt showing the quilt straight on, not at an angle; one closeup that includes border, binding, and quilting; one additional detail of your choice. Slides must be in sharp focus, clear, evenly lit, and true in color.
3. Each slide must be identified with the entrant’s name and address, quilt name, and quilt dimensions on the slide mounting. Mark the front and top edge on all slides. Do not send glass-mounted slides. Send the slides in a protective envelope or mailer. Receipt of entries cannot be acknowledged, and slides will not be returned.

JUDGING, AWARDS,
AND SPECIAL DISPLAYS
1. Selection of finalist quilts to be exhibited will be based on the color slides submitted with each entry form. Entries must be received by June 24, 2005. At the discretion of the judges, as many as 40 finalists will be selected.
2. Quilts will be judged on vision or imagination, unity of design, quality of construction techniques, quality of quilting and finishing, and interpretation of theme.
3. Only finalists will be notified, by telephone, mail, or email, by July 8, 2005, and will be advised of the procedures for labeling, identification, packaging, and sending their quilts to QNM in the United States. Do not send your quilt until you have received this information. Finalist quilts will be photographed by QNM and will remain together for travel and exhibition under the care of RJR Fabrics. Finalists are responsible for costs involved in shipping their entries for judging, but not for exhibition thereafter. RJR will pay shipping expenses when returning the quilts.
4. Winners will be selected in August 2005, and will be announced in QNM. Winners retain ownership of their quilts, which will be returned after August 2006.
5. Liability for all taxes is the sole responsibility of each winner. Prizes in the Jitterbug (group) category will be issued to the entrant named on the entry form only. Decisions of the judges are final. This contest is void where prohibited by law. QNM retains the right to publish pictures of all finalist quilts.
6. Neither QNM nor RJR Fabrics nor any other contest sponsor will have any responsibility for the quilts while in transit or otherwise not in their care. The exhibit sponsor will provide insurance on quilts during the period of the exhibits and while they are in the sponsor’s care. Each quilt will be insured for a maximum of $1,000.00 US. We suggest that you cover your entry through personal insurance as well.
